– MISSION AEROFI or just AEROFI, was conceived as a result of repeated expressions by Indian aerospace veterans as well as young aerospace enthusiasts from HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), NAL (National Aerospace Laboratories), Defence and Space Research Establishments and academic institutions that India, having started early in aerospace in 1940, need to have significant aerospace products and aircrafts to offer to the world not only from Government sectors, but also from Private sectors and not only Defence aircraft but also commercial aircraft and systems (Hardware/Software), designed and developed in India for the world. For this an enabling organisation with passion and dedication that is required for aerospace products, was considered essential.

A conference of Indian aerospace leaders was organised at NIAS (National Institute of Advanced Studies) at IISc (Indian Institute of Science) Campus on 29th November 2014, to discuss and consider giving go ahead to form an organisation like AEROFI (more fully described in this website pages).
