Why another organization, when
HAL, NAL, DRDO, ISRO already there?
- To Complement them and their efforts.
Lead Organizations like HAL/DRDO/ISRO/NAL are focused on launch of platforms of national importance, such as FGFA, MTA, AMCA, RTA, Launch Vehicles, Satellites, etc.
- There is a need to create risk sharing eco-system to complement.
- In the field of space India has made path-breaking achievements; so what is the logic
- There is need to replicate and enlarge ambitions
- In the area of aircraft development, India took early lead to design and develop military aircrafts like HF-24, a major success, with globally comparable technologies at that time. But the world paced up and moved faster;
- There is need to catch up & Leap-frog using alternate systems
- India took to many license production programmes, but these have been perpetuating dependence and followership
- There is need to make others also dependent, lead in select areas and work for mutual inter-dependence
- Some very important programmes were conceived and started: Tejas, ALH, IJT, Kaveri, Saras ALH and its derivatives have been successful within the country; its global full potentials need to be attempted. Tejas is making progress, but hasn’t filled the Indian and global sky. A lot needs to be done with regards to Kaveri, IJT, Saras.
- There is need for supporting systems to accelerate programmes.
- There is limited civil aircraft programme.RTA is being considered.
- There is need for smaller pre-cursor programmes and ecosystem to support integrator like (HAL+NAL) SPV
- India started in Aerospace before many countries, but many(Brazil, China, Japan, Israel) have edged past in many spheres of Aerospace technologies.
- World expects more from India.
