Why not leave it to the large Corporates; who have entered aerospace activity recently?
Organization like TATA /Mahindra/L&T/Reliance/DTL/Quest etc are finding
new roles:
- be part of Buy & Make (India) programmes;
- be a part of a global supply chain;
- gain entry into aircraft platforms like AVRO replacement ( C-295 by TATA);
- overseas aircraft company acquisition attempts by Mahindra
These efforts would help value($) contribution goals, but not
necessarily product contribution goals.
Their entry is “return on investment” (ROI) based on short and medium terms
in low risk (low gain for the country) projects
They have entered into non-product based activities (barring a few exceptions) to meet demands created by opportunities like offset or by overseas aerospace companies wanting to enlarge their supply chain.
Aerospace Programmes and product developments are long term commitments having high risk & long gestation there is need for new entities with innovative structuring that can attempt this challenge collectively
